The emotions of a long journey

"Madam, hand over your past post for eternity! Hakuna matata and welcome!" These were the words I had been waiting for so long. But now I am lukewarm before history.

Welcome! KARIBU!
Welcome! KARIBU!

It all started with a simple "Let's do it!" and a few months later we found ourselves in the car driving to Düsseldorf airport. The excitement had already taken over me the night before. The plane was taking off at around 11 am, which made me happy - I thought I would be able to sleep in. What a delusion! When you make such a long-awaited dream come true, the excitement comes in full force, and sleep becomes impossible.

When we parked the car, I even forgot my sunglasses in it because I was so excited to leave!

At the airport everything was very well organized, we didn't delay and in a second we calmly passed through the checks and so we slowly and easily got on the plane. We flew to Istanbul, the flight lasted about 3 hours, we had breakfast, which was delicious.

So after eating, we arrived in Istanbul, where we found our way around a bit more slowly, because the airport is huge, but the stay was pleasant, except for the insane prices of food and more. After a few hours of staying, we found our way to the gate, but it had our flight number written on it, but with the destination Kilimanjaro. We started wondering if we were at the right gate?! We asked and they assured us that this was our flight and gate. I thought, well, what the heck.

We boarded! From that moment on, the magic began. I looked out the porthole and saw night Antalya, then Alexandria. That's when they served dinner. Having dinner over Egypt - that was one of the most unforgettable experiences!Magnificent experience that no other restaurant can offer you with such a view. Wonderful!!!

After dinner, fatigue crept in and I decided to try to sleep. I woke up over Ethiopia and the joy in me screamed that this was not a dream, but reality. I enjoyed the midnight views over Africa again. We slowly flew over Kenya and over the equator, entered Tanzania and the crew was already preparing for landing, and the pilot announced the temperatures and the length of the stay at Kilimanjaro International Airport, located in the city of Arusha, it was about an hour. Another dream come true. I have always dreamed of starting my Tanzanian adventure right from Arusha and so it happened.

After the short stay we took off again and the fatigue was seriously telling its story, i.e. I fell asleep on our 30 minute flight to Zanzibar. Russi nudged me and said "Look! Look where we're going to land!" I opened my eyes and saw Zanzibar at night - palm trees, illuminated streets, lights and dark spots. Ahhhhhh, a moment of bliss!

The pilot announced the outside temperature at 27 degrees, so we set off at 10 with a cold north wind wearing winter jackets. It's a good thing I quickly put on a dress during my stay in Arusha.

After getting off the plane, we had a quick passport check, after which we had to get our visas on the spot - my great fear of dealing with documents, but I took a deep breath and we filled out the applications, got in line and everything went smoothly and without any problems. I want to emphasize here that the service was at a high level, and the people working behind the counters were very helpful and extremely kind.

Shortly after, I saw my luggage on the conveyor belt and rushed towards it, not realizing that we had to go through another visa check and I heard the words with which I began this article: "Madam, hand over your passport for good!" I apologized, and the man smiled at me and, returning my passport, looked at me and said HAKUNA MATATA and welcome to Zanzibar! I laughed and I replied HAKUNA MATATA, and my heart was already singing with joy that I was right here.

Hakuna matata!
