A Day in Antwerpen

Writer's picture: Yana IvanovaYana Ivanova

As I wandered the streets of Antwerp, I found myself reflecting on its rich history. Caught between the echoes of the past and the vibrancy of the present, the charming historical buildings and the aroma of Belgian waffles set my imagination adrift. My mind began to paint pictures of life here, then and now. Antwerp is a romantic yet highly developed Western European city, unmistakably the world's diamond capital, with 80% of rough diamonds passing through. But that's not all; it is also home to one of the oldest stock exchanges, established in 1531. Antwerp is proud of its several UNESCO heritage sites, including the Cathedral of Our Lady, and is the birthplace of renowned Baroque painters such as Peter Paul Rubens and Anthony van Dyck. These are just my impressions from a single day; imagine the wonders of a longer stay. Don't hesitate to add it to your travel list.. 😊
